Membership

We are registered as a United States Master Swimming group with Metropolitan LMSC. While open water group swims are free to any interested swimmer, we encourage registering as a CIBBOWS member ($31 per year) with USMS because USMS insurance is a requirement for participating in our organized races. Click here to register as a member at USMS. In addition, we request that active members make a donation to the Shorefront Y at Brighton Beach for use of their locker rooms and sauna.

We do group swims 3-5 times per week from April to November (when the water temperature rises above 50 F). The group swims, with the largest number of participants, occur on Saturdays and Sundays at 10am.

 

Most of our members are active in other local swimming groups. We have occasional meetings, but do most of our communication via our online email list, which is also used to post group swim times and places.

As a volunteer organization, we welcome your help with organizing races and assisting with efforts to maintain local water quality.
